Are books my life? Not quite, but it’s a legitimate question. I have been a reader all my life, enjoyed a long career as bookseller for my public library, own books, give books, talk about books and now write a little about books.
In the long holiday known as retirement, I look forward to exploring the forgotten depths of ‘to-be-read’ stacks, visiting bookstores when I travel, and reading. New books and authors, old favorites, the classics I’ve never gotten around to, recommendations from friends, I’m just going to read.
This blog will be something of a grab bag of reviews, quotations, the contemporary book trade, and anything connected with books and language. The best holidays take you places you didn’t know you wanted to go. I’ll let my reading lead the way.
